The show was the ideal place for the UK launch of Riverstone Building System® an innovative way to build structurally sound walls while covering them at the same time.
For those who do not know, Riverstone® is a composite material made up of marble pebbles or pieces of natural stone in different sizes, bound together with a transparent white or coloured resin.
Riverstone® is made in Italy and all components are of Italian origin.
The resin is slightly softer than the stone, therefore, the polished surface becomes slightly undulating. This gives Riverstone® an aesthetically pleasant effect and improves the scratch resistance.
The uneven surface is also self draining making Riverstone® suitable for wet environment such as bathrooms, steam rooms, changing rooms etc.
The surface of the stones is completely free of paints or resins and it is treated with a waxy water-repellent that protects the material from stains and makes it easy to maintain.
Natural stones absorb very little liquid and the resin is virtually impervious to liquids therefore Riverstone® is suitable for any kind of wall and floor covering (including heated flooring) as well as kitchen worktops.
Riverstone® has technical characteristic similar to those of marble and should be treated like marble when cutting, drilling or polishing it. Riverstone® can be purchased as slabs, tiles, or bricks, in a variety of different sizes and colours.
Riverstone® is a patented product and it is made with recycled marble. The manufacturing process does not require firing and it is therefore carbon free at the point of manufacture.
Riverstone® bricks are available in 21 different basic shapes in 19 different colours and can be combined to build structures that are practically impossible to build with traditional building material. Riverstone® bricks are hollow inside and can be backlit while electric cables and piping can be easily hidden inside. Riverstone® bricks are a real and true innovation!
